Tony O'Connor

Mr Tony O Connor

Mr O’Connor is a native of Galway and a graduate of NUIG Medical School. He was appointed to the Irish Higher Surgical Training programme in Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery in 2004 and received Specialist Training in ENT Surgery in teaching hospitals throughout Ireland. Prior to his appointment as a Consultant Ear Nose & Throat Surgeon at the Bon Secours Hospital, Galway in 2012 he spent two years in Perth, Australia where he completed clinical fellowships in Paediatric ENT at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and in Head & Neck Cancer Surgery at Royal Perth Hospital. He has also completed a clinical fellowship in Ear Surgery in Plymouth,England.

In 2017 he established Crescent ENT & Audiology. He continues to perform surgery at the Bon Secours Hospital, Galway. He has published numerous peer-reviewed academic papers and has been awarded a number of academic prizes and distinctions. He was awarded a Masters in Surgery (MCh) for research he performed at NUIG. Mr O'Connor’s areas of clinical interest include Paediatric ENT, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Hearing loss, Vertigo and disorders of the Voice and Larynx.
Ms Aileen Plunkett

Ms Aileen Plunkett

Aileen Plunkett has a long-established career in Audiology. Her former national role in the HSE as Assistant National Clinic Lead in Audiology had responsibility to provide clinical Leadership in the HSE service, setting a robust standard of care that championed clinical excellence to provide high quality patient centred care. Prior to this she developed strong diagnostic skills, with a busy and varied caseload as Chief Audiologist in the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital for 14 years.

Aileen has continually developed her clinical skills and knowledge within the field of Audiology maintaining ongoing professional development. As Senior Audiological Scientist in the Dublin Mid Leinster region she took the lead on developing the Paediatric Services and rolling out newborn hearing screening. She has now embarked in a private independent audiology practice called Hearing Solutions. Hearing Solutions is committed to providing high quality hearing healthcare combining clinical expertise and commitment with trusted research-based services to the hard of hearing.

Building on a foundation of knowledge experience and compassion to provide hearing evaluations and treatment care plans to optimise results and build confidence while improving communications. This mission is accomplished by accurately diagnosing hearing loss, providing direct care, listening to patient’s needs, and providing hearing solutions and technologies to meet the needs of the patient.
